MobLand: the gangster TV show you need to watch

Paramount+ confirmed that the high-profile mob drama racked up over 26 million viewers in the first 70 days since its release back in March 2025. This, coupled with internet popularity has obviously been enough for the streamer to renew it for another season. To which, we are so glad.

Set in London, MobLand follows the Harrigan family—an elite crime dynasty balancing wealth, violence, and whispered betrayal. At the centre is Harry Da Souza, a deadly and dapper fixer played by Tom Hardy, who’s tasked with keeping the family’s empire intact while everything threatens to unravel.

Season 1 introduced us to a world of shifting alliances, family secrets, and power plays dressed in tailored suits and suped-up cars. It ended on a blood-streaked note that left fans breathless—and Season 2 will promise even darker turns.

Is there going to be a MobLand Season 2?

The streets aren’t sleeping, and neither are we. MobLand Season 2 is locked and loaded and is moving forward at Paramount+ 🎉

Mark your calendars ladies, that’s our Sunday nights sorted for next Summer. Because crime doesn’t clock out, darlin’.

This gritty London-based gangster series had us hooked on high-stakes vendettas and razor-sharp swagger from the get-go. The Harrigans’ story is gearing up for its next act, and we can’t wait to see what chaos unfolds.

If Guy Richie is involved, so are we.

A Killer Cast

Tom Hardy leads as the icy-cool handler Harry. Pierce Brosnan (James Bond, Mamma Mia!) plays Conrad Harrigan, the calculating patriarch running London’s criminal elite. Helen Mirren (The Queen, RED) is scene-stealing as Maeve Harrigan, the family’s razor-sharp matriarch with more control than she lets on.

Other returning stars include Paddy Considine as troubled heir Kevin, Joanne Froggatt as Harry’s quietly brilliant wife Jan, and Anson Boon as wild card son Eddie. There’s also standout support from Jasmine Jobson, Lara Pulver, Mandeep Dhillon, and Toby Jones, to name a few.

Between the powerhouse cast and the cinematic world-building, it’s no surprise MobLand season 2 is already one of the most anticipated renewals of the year.

If you haven’t caught up yet—start watching. This family doesn’t forgive, and it definitely doesn’t forget.

why fans are hyped about MobLand Season 2

Tom Hardy. There. We said it. No, but seriously, the guy is extremely talented when it comes to portraying a threatening but gentle mob goafer. You absolutely do not want to mess with this one. There has been no doubt that the internet has had its say when it comes to this man – he is simply, adored. He gets the gals and the guys.

However, some fans actually feel genuine distaste for this show – it’s not “authentic” enough, or believable. We’re sure the makers are taking notes as we speak and will rock up with a second season that will shoot the mobster genre back into the limelight.

What can we expect from MobLand season 2?

Other than the Hardy Fan Clan, the storyline has left viewers compelled to know more. What will become of the Harrigans? Will Conrad and Maeve get out of prison and seek revenge on those who wronged them? Will Harry pick up the reins and whip them all into shape?

Seriously, though, there is a lot of TV gold here – the producers just need to find it.

OK, so what do we know?

We know that Conrad and Maeve are planning to break out of prison. We know that Kevin wants to reign over a new Harrigan empire. And we know that Harry has a big decision to make – oh, that’s if he survives his stab wound!

Other than those three main points, there is also the curious case of Eddie. The Harrigan surprise that keeps everyone walking on eggshells – well, everyone except Harry. Will he rise up and try to be the big man?

Release date and streaming info

It is fair to speculate that the show will potentially return in 2026. There has been no official comment on this as yet however, it is likely that they will set a spring 2026 release if season 1 production is anything to go by.

MobLand season 1 premiered in March 2025.
